Privacy Policy

This page explains what RHH Blacktown collects when you read a review, send in your own account of a tradie or a shopfront, or get in touch about a listing. It covers the data itself, how long we keep it, who else may see it, and how to ask us to correct or remove something.

What we collect

When you submit a review we ask for your name or initials, an email address, the suburb, the business name and the job type. Phone numbers are optional and only used if we need to check a detail before publishing. We also store the message body and any photos you attach, such as a shopfront or a work van. Separately, our servers log technical data: IP address, browser and device type, referring page and timestamps, which helps us spot spam entries and broken pages.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working and to understand which suburb guides people actually read. Analytics events cover page views, scroll depth and outbound clicks on review links; they are aggregated and not tied to your name. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Turning them off will not stop you reading reviews, though some preferences may reset on your next visit.

Why we process it

Submitted details are used to verify a review, publish a dated entry and reply to you if something needs clarifying. Technical logs are used for security, abuse prevention and basic traffic reporting. We do not sell your data, and we do not run sponsored rankings or paid badges, so no business can pay to change how a review appears. Where a review names a business, we may contact that business for a short right of reply.

Sharing and storage

Data may pass through third-party providers that keep the site running: hosting, email delivery, form handling and analytics. These processors only act on our instructions. Review text and photos you send for publication stay on the site until you ask us to take them down. Contact details that are not published are kept only as long as needed to verify the entry, then deleted. Some records may be retained longer if we are required to by law.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, request a correction, ask for deletion, or withdraw consent for analytics at any time. If you are in the EU or the UK, GDPR gives you these rights plus portability and the option to object to processing; if you are in California, CCPA lets you request disclosure and deletion and to opt out of any sale of personal information, which we do not carry out. Send the request from the email you used and we will confirm once it is done.

Honest listings, no misleading claims

Reviews here are first-hand accounts from locals, published with dates and edited only for length or clarity. We do not invent testimonials, fake urgency, fake endorsements or brand partnerships, and we do not claim an official affiliation with any business we cover. A review is one household's experience, not a guarantee of the same result for you. If an entry looks wrong or out of date, tell us and we will check it against the original submission.

Privacy questions and requests

Write to us with the subject line "Privacy request" and include the email you used when submitting.
